EVERLASTING GOBSTOPPER
BRAND EXPANSION + PACKAGING
Made famous by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Everlasting Gobstoppers have been a timeless candy for decades. In 2018, longtime owner Nestlé sold the brand to the Ferrara Candy Company. Despite the new ownership, the Gobstopper’s branding has yet to evolve.
The current branding contains lots of concentric circles and a chaotic variety of colors. To me, It’s a confusing design. I built a new color palette sampled from the candy itself to leave room for brand extensions. The rainbow graphic is a nod to the “Everlasting” quality of the candy. It wraps continuously around the box.
