EVERLASTING GOBSTOPPER

BRAND EXPANSION + PACKAGING

Made famous by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Everlasting Gobstoppers have been a timeless candy for decades. In 2018, longtime owner Nestlé sold the brand to the Ferrara Candy Company. Despite the new ownership, the Gobstopper’s branding has yet to evolve.

The current packaging contains lots of concentric circles and a chaotic variety of colors. To streamline things, I constructed a new color palette based on the color of the candy. The rainbow graphic is a nod to the “Everlasting” quality of the candy. It wraps continuously around the box.

Before

After

Leaning on the rainbow for graphic consistency, the Chewy and Sour iterations of the product feel coherent with the original version, while staying unique with individual colors and typefaces.

A new Mystery edition of Everlasting Gobstopper will be introduced. All of the candies are white on the outside, but have the same five original flavors of cherry, lemon, orange, watermelon, and grape on the inside.
